After spending over $30,000 on their shades, it became apparent that Maria never explained that the shades I purchased don’t keep light out. Maybe everybody but me knows that not all shades keep a room dark, but it seems that was a point she should have emphasized beforehand. Even the cheap vinyl shades I had as a child, even the plastic pull-downs in multiple cheap apartments, even the temporary shades I bought from Walmart to use because she stored her shades for over a month in my garage before install (!!!) block light. But not their new car’s worth of shades. Not at all. Currently, the street lights keep my kids awake. The morning sun wakes them up. And, when I called following installation to discuss this, she couldn’t have cared less. Customer service was very polite, but did nothing. At all. In addition, they forgot shades for my teenage son’s bathroom window and needed a 2nd install for my bedroom’s curtains. I’m now paying a bunch of money to another company to place black out curtains in my childrens’ rooms so they can sleep. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Thanks for reading.

The rudest experience I have ever encountered as a Muslim American. I cannot stress the amount of distress this visit caused. The ladies at the front were not friendly. A woman with glasses, slightly older with grey/ brown hair and pursed lips (Patty Davis) gave us quite an attitude.
I wear hijab FYI - she asked “what do you want?” Versus a welcoming “how may I help you.”

It was like pulling teeth to get information. When we asked about a specific brand she started rattling off all the brands and telling us “I’ve never heard of what you’re talking about - it doesn’t exist.” Each question had to be so meticulously asked as if she didn’t understand English. Although she attempted to warm up during our conversation, she left me feeling bitter, unwelcome and as if my husband and I were a complete nuisance.

She then asked about where our home is - assuming we couldn’t possibly live in the area because…why? How we were dressed? The color of our skin? The hijab on my head?
She stated “I guess you’re close by which is why you’re here….” We refused to give our address lest we be judged further.

Maybe working in customer service is not for you, Patty Davis. Clearly, Patty, your world is small and this company doesn’t have the basics of customer service training for you to be behaving as you did. Shame on you.

Ultimately once we started looking at things online and said we will just check there - and she said “well, I’m almost done now here anyway.”

Disappointed. Will not be shopping here most likely. Be sure to thank Patty Davis for this terrible customer experience and for being unnecessarily abrasive.

Update: I did speak with Tami who was very kind however due to the severity of the situation no amount of discount or working with someone else would allow me to spend money with a company that employs such a person as Patty.

I had a great experience with Patty Davis at the Shade Store in Houston. I wanted a special look for my guest room. She helped me find the perfect solution. There are so many samples that it can be overwhelming, but she guided me with ease to what I needed. I just had the blinds installed and they look fabulous. The price may be high, but it was worth it. I am so thrilled with my new blinds!

Update to my previous review:
I have been working with Tami, which provided an excellent customer service and doubled all the efforts to ensure client satisfaction. The product itself did not have any issues, but there were multiple issues with the delivery of the final products. The issue was raised and hopefully no one else out there will have to experience the same.

My husband and I went to this store to get motorized blinds in April, we were told the wait was 4wks.
We initially scheduled the installation for May, there was a quality issue with one of the blinds so they rescheduled for June. The size of 3valances was wrong. They came back in July and the color was wrong, they came back in August right color but wrong size. They came back in September and the corner was on the wrong size. Finally October comes, we scheduled our delivery, the installer comes out but he was alone so he couldn’t make the corner flash as it was a job for 2 people. We rescheduled for early November, they told us they were on their way, their truck broke down. We rescheduled for last week, they were late and they sent a note, they pushed our window to 5-7 and at 7.30pm told us they wouldn’t have made it. At 8pm we got a called saying they were on their way. I was told somebody would have called me the next day and they never did.
We do enjoy our blinds but I had to take half of my yearly PTO to accommodate their multiple failed appointments. Between wrong measurements, wrong orders, poor schedule and bad fabrications, I will highly suggest you to save 15,000$ and go elsewhere, because you are gonna lose more by accommodating to their schedules.
We were promised a installation fee returned but we only got a bit more than half.

Visit Lisa Crawford at the Highland Village store! She coordinated my project from start to finish, and the overall experience was review-worthy!

Customer Service. I had lots of questions Lisa had all the answers. Knows her stuff. Fun upbeat personality and genuinely seems to enjoy what she does.

Logistics. Efficient across each project milestone. Shade Store clearly has a well developed process behind the scenes. From the customer end, each step felt seamless.

Quality. I went with a Roman cascade price group C fabric. Was confident in the quality just from the level of service alone but the craftsmanship of the finished product, made my eyes bulge! Handmade, high quality, and timeless.
