I met Kevin through a neighbor in our building to have our floors redone. Their crew came in were beyond professional. The floors looked great after it was all said and done. He advised us how to care for them as well. Despite our toddler and our dogs giving a lot of wear, they still look beautiful to this day.

BUT THAT's NOT ALL!

I pitched an idea for hanging cabinets to be installed. I sent actual drawings from the original cabinet creators to him. After a brief walk through for measurements, he and his team created a beautiful set of cabinets that look EXACTLY like the others installed in our home. My wife and I love them!

Having met many of the people he hires to work with him, they are all consummate professionals who love the work they do!!!!! Old school quality and pride!!!!

A built-in cabinet and radiator cover in our bedroom had begun to sag in the middle so that the doors didn't align or close fully.

Kevin's company, Space Carpenter LLC, did a thoroughly professional and meticulous job of repairing the problems. Ken came in to review the situation and proposed a solution which sounded very reasonable. He came back and did the work carefully and skillfully. (A paint job was also included.)

Space Carpenter did some work for us previously -- about 2 years ago – making repairs and improvements to several cabinet drawers and doors that were out of alignment or didn’t close properly. Because we were so happy with that job, we decided to call on them again for this one.

They are consummate professionals, skilled, imaginative, responsive and punctual.

We would hire them again and recommend them to anyone seeking their services.

Space Carpenter built a loft for my full size bed. Communication with Kevin was easy, quick, and professional. From the time measurements were taken of the space to the time it was fully installed in my apartment was a span of 2 and a half days. I am extremely happy with the work- especially for at the lowest quoted price I found in NYC- and would use Space Carpenter again without question.

I was looking for an experienced carpenter who would make me: a banquette sitting (dining) area, a custom-made bookshelf and 2 built-ins.

I contacted Space Carpenter and provided them with pictures of exactly what I was looking for. I received an e-mail from someone named Kevin Rocine, saying that "this is possibly an interesting project." He was requesting more information, pictures of the actual space, dimensions, etc. He promised to provide me with an approximate cost for the project. He also pointed out the following: "If that is not possible I would have to visit you and charge a design to work out the approximate details before pricing."

So far so good. I spent a lot of time measuring everything. I sent him a very detailed e-mail, featuring pictures and precise dimensions, as well as additional details and a thorough explanation about each piece that I was looking to get.

I never received a response. I contacted the Space Carpenter again 10 days later, politely asking if they were at all interested in the project. But nobody bothered to get back to me. Kevin - thanks for wasting an hour of my time (before work) to take measurements, upload pictures and e-mail you...

Since then, I've found not one, but several truly professional carpenters. All of them provide free in-home estimates, unlike the Space Carpenter who charges his potential clients a fee.

But you know what? I am glad that I didn't pay Kevin a "design fee" to visit my home and take the measurements himself. Seeing how I never heard back from him, he would've probably burned me with a few hundred dollars and never contacted me again after his visit.

Do yourself a favor and don't bother with this lack of professionalism.
